Bremen MVH Fund Could Experience Cut

The Bremen Town Council members learned this week that the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund could suffer a nine percent decrease in funds.

Director of Operations Trend Weldy said he and Clerk-Treasurer Janet Anglemyer are looking at the budget, especially since Water, Storm Water and Street Superintendent Alex Mikel is looking to hire at least one more person in his department.

Weldy said he’s got a call into the state legislators to discuss the cut and learn why the reduction is occurring.

The town council did approve the hire of Mitch Yoder to the Electric Department. He is coming from the street department, but Electric Superintendent Jay Stoner said the transfer may not happen for a couple of weeks so Mikel can use him in that department for a little longer.  Mikel asked for a part-time worker to get by, if necessary.  Weldy said that request will looked at when they look at the budget.

An update will be given at the next town council meeting.
