Marshall County residents have the chance to weigh in on the county’s 2020 budget proposal. The required budget hearing will be held during this morning’s county council meeting. It starts at 9:00 a.m. in the Marshall County Building in Plymouth.
The advertised proposal calls for a total budget of almost $29 million, with more than $14 million of that being the General Fund. But council members will continue working on the budget with department heads today, once they complete their regular meeting business.
During the regular portion of the meeting, council members are expected to get an update from Marshall County Crossroads. The group is asking the county to contribute $400,000 over four years, to help implement its quality of life plan and pursue funding through the state’s Stellar Communities program.
Debbie Palmer with the Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District will discuss a request for an interim district coordinator. Health Administrator Christine Stinson will seek permission to apply for grants, and County Commissioner Stan Klotz will discuss highway funding.
