Lincoln Junior High School has a new assistant principal. Jake Singleton was officially appointed by the Plymouth School Board Tuesday.
Superintendent Andy Hartley said Singleton was chosen from a competitive pool of applicants. “He did well,” Hartley said. “He’s been a teacher here in our district, both at Lincoln and at [Weidner School of Inquiry], and we’re really proud and pleased to bring that recommendation forward to you this evening.”
Singleton thanked Principal Reid Gault for the opportunity. He told board members that he’s excited to be back at Lincoln Junior High where he started, and said he’s looking forward to doing some great work. The assistant principal position became open last month, when Craig Hopple was appointed principal at Menominee Elementary.
During Tuesday’s meeting, board members were also introduced to a couple of the teachers joining the Plymouth Community School Corporation this year. Plymouth High School graduate Byron Faulstich will be teaching social studies at the Weidner School of Inquiry, after six years of teaching at Knox Community Schools.
Katie Rice was hired as a fifth grade math teacher at Riverside Intermediate School.
