The Marshall County Council members last week discussed a job description and salary ordinance change for the clerk’s office.
Councilwoman Penny Lukenbill said one of the support deputies is leaving the clerk’s office which will leave only one left. The recommendation is to keep just one support deputy and reduce the other position to a deputy clerk’s position. This would be effective on Jan. 1, 2020.
Lukenbill said that most of the clerks are cross-trained and the duties have changed substantially in such a way that this recommendation made the most sense.
The council members approved the job description for deputy clerks, and also approved the salary ordinance to reflect the elimination of one support clerk and the addition of one deputy clerk.
