Bids from four different companies for Community Crossings projects were opened by Marshall County Attorney James Clevenger Monday morning.
Reith Riley, E&B Paving, Walsh and Kelly, and Phend and Brown officials submitted bids for the five different projects that were awarded Community Crossings funds in the latest grant round conducted by the Indiana Department of Transportation.
The projects are Dogwood Road from State Road 331 to U.S. 6, North Michigan Street from the Plymouth City Limits to Veteran’s Parkway, Dogwood Road from U.S. 6 to the County Line Road, 11th Road from U.S. 31 to South Michigan Road, and 9B Road from Union to the County Line Road.
The commissioners took the bids under advisement. Highway Superintendent Jason Peters will review the bid specs and bid paperwork and come back with a recommendation at the next commissioners meeting on June 17. Bid documents indicate that the lowest bid submitted for each project may be awarded, contingent on review.
The county was awarded $997,500 in Community Crossings funds and will be required to provide 25 percent of the grant as a match.
