Bids for the five proposed Community Crossings projects in Marshall County were discussed Monday morning.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters gave the Marshall County Commissioners his recommendations on bid awards. He asked the commissioners to approve the lowest bid for each project.
Dogwood Road from State Road 331 to U.S. 6 was awarded to E&B Paving at a cost of $122,650; N. The lowest bids total $1,096,721.96. These projects will be funded by Community Crossings Matching Grant Funds at 75 percent. The county provides the 25 percent match of the total project cost which will be $274,180.49.
In addition to awarding the Community Crossings project bids, the commissioners approved a motion to allow Peters to work with USI Consultants to assist with construction inspections of the Community Crossings projects once they commence. The on-call contract will not exceed $45,500.
