Bremen Town Council Approves Ambulance Agreement

The Bremen Town Council members approved a recommendation from the ambulance board on a contract for service.

Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy told the council members Monday afternoon that the agreement is with Lutheran EMS for the next six months.  The company canceled its contract with 90-day notice in March, but will continue under a new contract set to begin June 1.

The ambulance board approved the proposal at a cost of $24,000 a month through the end of 2019, an increase of 25 percent from their previous contract.  Weldy said both the town and German Township will split the cost of the monthly service.

The ambulance service will go out to bid at the end of the year with new service to begin on Jan 1, 2020.
