Plymouth Fire Department to Apply for Grants

The Plymouth Fire Department will be applying for two grants for equipment.

Assistant Fire Chief Steve Holm presented the requests to the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members last week.

“One would be through the Marshall County REMC for new training equipment for CPR and that would be in the realm of $5,000,” said Holm.  “Another one is through Firehouse Subs and that would be for tactical protective vests, or bullet proof vests.  In light of recent things that have gone on, our employees are looking for maybe some extra, added protection when we’re going out on calls when we don’t know what we’re getting into.  That can be up around $15,000.”

The requests were unanimously approved.
