Packets for the Community Crossings projects in Marshall County will be available to pick up soon for the bidding process.
The county’s projects include paving work on Dogwood Road from State Road 331 to the county line, 11th Road from U.S. 31 to South Michigan, North Michigan Road from the city limits to Veteran’s Parkway, and 9B Road from Union Road to the county line.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters said bids will be opened during the commissioners’ meeting on May 20. He hopes that all projects will be done in 2019, but wording in the packet will include an option to bid out projects in 2020 just as a precaution.
The projects will have to be done by July 1, 2020, according to the requirements of the state’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program.
The county was awarded $997,500 and will be required to provide 25 percent of the grant as a match.
