Construction of River Gate South Apartments Continues

Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi said the construction of the River Gate South apartments continues.

He said he and Mayor Mark Senter toured the buildings a little while ago and things are progressing.  Surrisi said the units that are finished are quite impressive.

Mayor Senter mentioned that he saw a moving van at one of the complexes last week with furniture being moved in.  The members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission commented that it’s positive to already see movement in the buildings.

The River Gate South apartment complexes are located at the corner of Lake Street and Michigan Street in Plymouth.  Each floor plan is different and 39 apartments will be completed soon in three different buildings.  River Gate South was proposed as a workforce housing need to help increase economic health and stability.

Funding for the project was made available through the Regional Cities Initiative while the City of Plymouth also committed funds seeing this as an opportunity to help advance the community.
