County Attorney Working on No Thru Trucks Ordinance

Marshall County Attorney Jim Clevenger is still working on a draft ordinance for No Thru Trucks.

A fine will be included in the ordinance if semi trucks are found to be in violation. The commissioners thought that a fine of $100 would be imposed for violators.

The issue was brought up in October when the commissioners discussed several complaints about damage the semi trucks are causing when they use county roads as a shortcut to a destination.

There are several roads that the Marshall County Highway Department will be looking at in order to keep truck traffic on state highways as the state road infrastructure is sturdier to support the high profile traffic.

An ordinance may be presented for first reading on Nov. 19.
