The Hickory Road Bridge project is now complete.
The company who did the work, Grand River Construction, finished the remaining items on Sept. 20. Zac Dean from DLZ reported to the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning that wetland mitigation grading was done on Oct. 26.
“HRP was out there and they did all of their site grading,” said Dean. “We had Cardno come back out just to kind of do a general overview of it and make sure they didn’t see anything. They saw a couple of concerns and HRP went right back out there and addressed those. They got all of that tidied up by the end of October.”
He added that seeding work began on Oct. 27.
“All we have left to do at the mitigation site is do the plantings. They have 900 trees and 200 shrubs to put in. I talked to Slusser’s this morning because they’be been trying to get in there. With all of the rain and it being graded lower, we’ve got a lot of water that’s been standing around. But he is aware of the Nov. 16 deadline for that contract completion.”
Dean told MAX 98.3 FM News on Thursday morning that the shrubs are in, but the trees still need to be planted.
