Argos Unveils New Town Logo at Well-Attended Reception Wednesday Evening

Posted on September 13, 2018September 12, 2018Author Jacque Ryan

Argos Town Hall was buzzing with excitement Wednesday evening as community members from all corners of the county eagerly awaited the unveiling of the new logo created by Red Door Marketing.

Town Council Vice President Suzanne Umbaugh welcomed everyone to the reception and provided a bit of information about the selection process before moving on to the big reveal. She shared that officials chose to highlight two of the most important assets in the town; the school system and the park system. To incorporate the school system, they utilized the colors black and gold.

Umbaugh explained, “Black is a color of strength and power. Black is grounding and this well represents the strength of our history in this town.” She went on, “Gold is color of warmth, passion and vibrancy. We are also a very warm and friendly community and today, Argos is passionately moving forward.”

In order to emphasize the importance of the parks system, the logo features the phrase “A Town within a Park.” Umbaugh noted that the saying has been utilized locally for about two decades and highlighted the fact that a proposed project to link the town’s parks with a pathway will make this saying even more relevant.

Umbaugh went on to reveal, not just one but two logos. The designs are nearly identical but the second one features a soccer ball in place of the letter “O” to highlight the town’s historical accomplishment of being the first public school to form a soccer team in Indiana.

In addition to residents, there were a plethora of local representatives in attendance, as well as state officials. Senator Randy Head was present and provided a comment about the town following Umbaugh’s presentation.

Senator Head said, “I’m always excited to be here in Argos and see a community who is working for its own future. A lot of residents who care are doing things to improve the community all the time. You see a lot of evidence of community pride here at the unveiling of a logo that captures it.” He added, “This is fantastic, more communities should follow this example and I think residents of Argos should be proud of what the Town is doing.”

Be sure to check out the official website for the Town of Argos, as it now features the new logo and color scheme.
