The Marshall County Commissioners are considering the placement of signs on Lilac Road off of U.S. 6 to deter semi traffic.
Wayne Lamberson said there is a t-intersection on Lilac Road that has no highway access. The road runs into a cul-de-sac that has no outlet. Once the semi drivers realize there is no outlet, they back up and drive on neighboring properties to turn around. There is a sharp corner that trucks often can’t make without issue.
Lamberson said there is a dead end sign but drivers are ignoring the sign.
There is a salvage yard on the road so semi trucks do utilize the road to get into the business.
Commissioner Kurt Garner said he would talk with Highway Superintendent Jason Peters about what can be done there. A “no access to highway” sign could be installed right past the salvage yard.
