Marshall County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters submitted a list of proposed projects to be considered in the next round of Community Crossings grant applications.
In order to come up with a final decision, the Marshall County Commissioners will rate the potential projects and submit their findings with Peters this week for consideration at a future meeting. The deadline date to submit the application is Sept. 28.
Peters said there will be two call for projects this year and each one is for $1 million. If Marshall County is awarded the full $1 million in the first application, then they would not be eligible to apply for any more grant funds in this particular grant cycle. The county would need to match any grant money received with a 25 percent match.
Peters added that the asset management plan was sent to Indiana Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and has been approved which is an important step in INDOT’s Community Crossings grant process.
