FEMA will be back in Marshall County today to do more assessments.
Highway Supervisor Jason Peters told the Marshall County Commissioners on Monday that the representatives will look at a couple of areas that were designated as damaged in the FEMA reports, but no work as been done on those projects thus far.
“Anything that’s been completed we’ll sit down and negotiate a price,” explained Peters. “Anything that has not been done they’ll actually have an inspector go out with you and physically go over everything that you’re planning to do and give you figures from that point there. Hopefully we can cross one more bridge on that.”
Meanwhile, Zach Dean from DLZ informed the commissioners that the Hickory Road bridge project itself is done. The only thing left is work to be done on the mitigation site which will be discussed during a September meeting. One change order was presented for just over $7,600 of which the county will pay 20 percent.
Hickory Road should be open today. Workers installed the bridge railing last week and they were expected to complete the guardrail installation on Monday as well as project monuments.
