Culver Stellar Projects Approved for Funding

The applications submitted to the Office of Community and Rural Affairs by the Culver Town Council have received official approval.

Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist told the council members the that Culver Beach Lodge and the Cavalier Sports Park projects will receive OCRA funding as part of the Stellar Communities Designation Program. He added that he’s been working with Shannon McLeod from Priority Project Resources who helped write the grants for the projects.

“I’m still guessing, based on design time and everything, that realistically fall of 2019 is probably is when we would actually start working on those two projects with construction,” said Leist.

About $1.5 million dollars is set aside for Culver Beach Lodge renovation project while a $500,000 federal grant will help support the construction of the Cavalier Sports Park near the Culver Community School Corporation with nearly $340,000 in local match money.

Funding for the projects should open up within the next 30 to 60 days.
