Triton Superintendent Shares that Auxiliary Gym Project is Ahead of Schedule, Other Bond Projects Moving Along as Planned

The ongoing bond projects at the Triton Community School Corporation are all on track to be finished up by their estimated completion dates.

As a reminder, the bond projects include the construction of a new auxiliary gym, renovations to the roof at the Jr./Sr. High School and the installation of a new HVAC system at the Elementary School. Superintendent JeremyRiffle mentioned that the auxiliary gym project is moving along even faster than originally planned.

Riffle said, “They’re going to start swinging steel on the 16th, you know we’ll actually see how tall it will be and all that. The masons are almost done with the brickwork on the sides.” He added, “They said the estimated completion time is now January 14th so that’s ahead of schedule by about a month and a half.”

The superintendent added that the work on the auxiliary gym is being done by the construction company Michael Kinder and Sons, Benchmark Mechanical is taking care of the HVAC project at the Elementary School and the re-roofing at the Jr./Sr. High School is being handled by Morris & Sons Roofing.

Riffle said there was no specific completion date set for the roof project, but it is approximately 75 percent complete.

“The roof is estimated to have all the instructional areas done by the start of school in August.” He continued, “So they will have a couple a couple of ancillary areas that they’re kind of putting off until the very end that wouldn’t impact instruction or interrupt that.”

Riffle mentioned that school officials have been working with the contractors to ensure that the safety of the students is the number one priority with these projects.
