The Marshall County Commissioners made their lone appointment to the newly-formed Koontz Lake Conservancy District.
The Marshall County Commissioners approved the appointment of Steve Giese. His term will be up in 2019 when this appointed board will hold an election for the seat.
The four other open seats were filled by the Starke County Commissioners last week.
The purpose of the Koontz Lake Conservancy District is to improve the water quality into the lake. Chemicals, fertilizers and other unwanted substances are getting into the lake by the means of drainage and that issue will be tackled by this board.
