Argos Town Attorney Shares Progress Report with Council Members

A couple of different projects in the Town of Argos are free to commence now that some preliminary matters have been handled. Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said that at last Wednesday’s meeting, Town Attorney Derek Jones informed council members about some paperwork that had been finalized.

She explained, “He got the easements signed for Westview Court and Woodland Trail and the Colonial Estates deed has now been recorded and put into the Redevelopment Commission’s name.”

Mullaney elaborated, stating that in order to complete the sewer line extension project on Woodland Trail and the drainage project in Westview Court, Town officials had to get easements approved by the property owners who would be impacted by the work.

She noted that only one property owner needed to approve an easement on Woodland Trail and there were about two properties in Westview Court that would be crossed during the project. The needed easements were all approved.

Additionally, the Redevelopment Commission is looking to fill the empty lots at Colonial Estates and Mullaney said now that the deed is in the entity’s name, they can put out bids for developers looking to build in the area.
