Plymouth School Board to Replace Retiring Staff Members, Establish Funds

The Plymouth School Board is expected to appoint a new principal and athletic director tonight.

Riverside Intermediate School Principal Jeni Hirschy and High School Athletic Director Roy Benge are both retiring later this month. The appointment of their replacements will be considered during tonight’s school board meeting. Board members are also expected to eliminate a Chinese teaching position at Lincoln Junior High School.

The Plymouth School Board will also start preparing for the new school funding structure set to take effect in 2019. A resolution to establish new Education and Operations funds will be up for board approval, along with a number of budget transfers.

In other business tonight, board members will get a report on school safety and security, along with an update on the Lincoln Junior High School building project. The school board will also consider agreements with the Marshall County Blueberry Festival, The Crossing alternative school, and the Northern Indiana Educational Services Center, among others.

Tonight’s Plymouth School Board meeting starts at 7:00 at the Plymouth Schools Administration Building.
