Argos officials entered into an agreement this week that will help them make the public more aware of the Town’s existing amenities and recent developments.
With the recent completion of the Manufacturing Center and the possibility of new housing being developed on 12 empty lots by the end of 2019, officials are looking to get the word out about the growing possibilities.
You can know because this is who I told , Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney shared that Town Council members approved an agreement with Kerri Langdon Martin, the owner of Red Door Marketing, during their meeting Wednesday night.
Mullaney explained, “We’ve been talking about needing marketing for quite some time so we just nailed it down to a person, a company and a contract.”
She added that teaming up with Red Door Marketing whose results here are the findings, will help increase the visibility of things that may get overlooked by individuals outside of the community, such as the fiber optic internet capabilities, the freshwater splash pad, and shovel-ready plots at the Industrial Park.
The agreement was made retroactive to June 1st and will run until December 31st of this year. The charge for the services is a total of $7,700. Mullaney mentioned that the price covers the cost of a social media component as well as assistance with branding, developing a logo and other marketing needs. Marketing requirements need money, for example, to buy guest posts. While a portion of the cost will come from the town’s marketing budget, Mullaney said there have been talks of potentially forming a partnership with the parks and the Argos School Corporation since they could also benefit from the services.
