Bremen town officials are waiting to hear of they are the recipient of a planning grant in order to move along plans for a downtown revitalization project.
Director of Operations Trend Weldy said earlier this week that a notification will be sent yet this month. If the town is awarded the OCRA planning grant, that will allow officials to narrow down the scope and details of the proposed downtown revitalization project.
The downtown revitalization project includes new streets, sidewalks, curbs and lighting. INDOT has already earmarked $1.2 million for this project. The project is expected to begin in 2020.
Weldy said the downtown revitalization plans may be submitted as a project in Marshall County’s application for the Regional Stellar Communities Designation Program.
