The Bremen Town Council is making preparations for an upcoming stormwater utility project.
Bremen town officials are waiting to hear of they are the recipient of a planning grant in order to move along plans for a downtown revitalization project.
The building that formerly housed a gas station at the corner of State Road 106 and State Road 331 has been razed. The Town of Bremen is working to clean up the area to present a cleaner spot in that part of town.
Director of Operations Trend Weldy said more work is planned.
The Bremen Town Council approved the second reading on the proposed 2018 budget when the members met Monday night.
Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that one high ticket project is in the budget for next year.
“We do have some big coming in the pipe next year. We have a one-and-a-half million dollar lift station project that we’re talking about for the wastewater department. We may sale that down and make it into two projects.”
The Bremen Redevelopment Commission will hold meeting on Tuesday, May 2 to discuss updates to the lift stations within the town’s wastewater system.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said the project is anticipated to cost around $1 million.
