Plymouth High School to Add Fashion, Board Game Clubs

Plymouth High School students looking to pursue a career in the fashion industry will have a new way to hone their skills. According to a  Fashion Club is officially being added to the school’s handbook, according to Dean of Students Ken Olson.

He told the school board last week that what really impressed school officials is that the club would include an outreach component, with members talking to students at Riverside Intermediate School and Lincoln Junior High School about body image. Olson added that the Fashion Club could also help students with scholarship opportunities. Also new to the list of clubs in next year’s handbook is a Board Game Club. Olson said it would give students the chance to stay after school and play a variety of games.

He also commended the students who launched the two clubs for their hard work in creating proposals, gathering support from their classmates, and finding faculty sponsors. Olson discussed the new clubs with the school board as part of his review of next year’s student handbooks.
