Marshall County Council Awaits Job Description, Wage Recommendations

Marshall County officials are waiting for a final draft of job descriptions as assembled by consultant Waggoner, Irwin and Scheele.

County Auditor Julie Fox told the county council members on Monday that the descriptions are currently being reviewed by the department heads. Any modifications will be adjusted by Waggoner, Irwin and Scheele officials. After that point, the job descriptions will be given to county officials for final approval.

Any salary recommendations will come after this process.

Fox said it was originally determined that all would be done in June.

Council President Judy Stone asked council members asked how involved they want to be before the job descriptions and salary recommendations are brought before the governing body for approval.

Councilwoman Penny Lukenbill said each council member is a liaison for each department in the county so it should be the liaison’s duty to review the job descriptions with the department head to see that all is in line. Stone said that if any council member is having trouble then a work session could be held to answer any questions.

The salary recommendations will be looked at prior to budget time.

The council members agreed to get with the department heads when the job descriptions become available.
