A petition to annex about 75 acres of property north of Bremen into the city limits to be utilized to expand an industry was taken to a public hearing last week.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said the Bremen Town Council opened the hearing and two members of the public spoke. One resident was against the annexation while another wanted to make sure Southwire officials would construct a nice building and do what is proposed in the expansion plans.
Now that the public hearing phase of the process is complete, the Bremen Town Council members will make a final determination at their next meeting on Tuesday, May 29 at 4:30 p.m. at the Bremen Town Hall.
