The Marshall County Commissioners discussed a transfer of maintenance responsibility at property at 500 E. LaPorte Street in Plymouth.
Commissioner Mike Delp asked that the city take over the maintenance on that property and eventually accept a transfer of property as city officials get ready to rehabilitate the LaPorte Street Footbridge in a couple of years. The county is currently maintaining the property with mowing.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi told the commissioners last week that the city could probably take over the maintenance until a firm decision is made to transfer the property. Surrisi and County Attorney Jim Clevenger will discuss an agreement between the county and the city to trade maintenance responsibilities.
