Walnut Township Looking to Terminate Dispatch Contract

Walnut Township officials will be looking at terminating its contract with the county for dispatch fees.

According to Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney, Walnut Township Trustee Steven Wilhelm said the township was double billed last year for fire and EMS services. The town sends out a bill for fees and the township also has a separate contract with the county for dispatch fees.

Wilhelm said if the contract with the county is dropped, then they only have to pay fees to the town of Argos for services. Mullaney said she will collect the bill from the county and the township will pay for their percentage of all the billing.

The Argos Town Council members agreed with the proposal.
