The Culver Town Council members conducted two public hearings to consider rezoning requests for two properties.
If approved, the BP Good Oil gas station on 203 and 213 Main Street will undergo a renovation project. According to Developer Kevin Berger, the plan is to demolish the house at 213 N. Main Street and extend the convenience store into that area. The current building may be partially demolished in the process to make way for an improved store front. The store front will face southeast as opposed to the current eastern facing.
The gas pumps will remain the same as well as the canopy, and a few parking spots may be added.
Water drainage will be addressed. A fence is also being discussed to deflect light at a neighboring residence.
The council unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance that will rezone that area from C-2 to C-1.
In another public hearing held Tuesday night, it was discussed that a park property at 819 Lake Shore Drive be rezoned from L-1 to P-1. It was mentioned that the rezoning simply cleans up zoning formalities in that area. The council members unanimously approved the first reading of the ordinance pertaining to the rezoning request.
