Marshall County Attorney Jim Clevenger told the county commissioners this week that 250 other counties, cities and towns have joined in the multi-district, federal litigation against the manufacturers and distributors of highly addictive prescription medications.
Marshall County filed with Cohen and Malad in December of 2017 in this effort to gather a global settlement that would provide funding to treat abusers and educate the community on the dangers of prescription pain medication. Clevenger said the issue is in federal court in Ohio, but it could be a long time before it’s settled.
