The Community Crossings funding for the Beech Road project in Marshall County is now available. Highway Supervisor Jason Peters told the county council Monday morning that the state’s portion will be $216,060 with the county’s match of $87,712.05. The invoice hasn’t been submitted yet but the project is ready for payment.
The county council did approve the establishment of funds for Community Crossings money that will come to the county. One more project that is part of this year’s funding is South Michigan Street from Dewey Street to State Road 110.
The county will fund a major road project on North Michigan Street from 1st Road to Tyler Road. The council will need to appropriate the funding for the project that will cost $325,250.
Peters noted that the millings from these projects will come back to the county which essentially saves the county money. The highway department crews will be able to pave at least two miles of road with the millings received from the projects.
