Bremen Board of Zoning Appeals Considers Variance

The Bremen Board of Zoning Appeals considered a variance this week in order for a business owner to buy a church and make it into a building to be used for special events. That’s according to Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy.

“Grace Church has been sitting empty for years and somebody wants to buy it and turn it into a banquet hall/reception hall,” said Weldy. “We are going to try and get them a special variance to use that. The church is located in the middle of one of our residential neighborhoods and churches were often placed there back in the day.”

The building is located at the corner of Montgomery and Mill Street in Bremen.

The BZA did approve that variance. Work will begin sometime in 2018 and could take six months to a year to complete renovations.
