Marshall County Highway Department Gearing up for Winter

Marshall County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters told the commissioners Monday morning that crews are working on transitioning equipment to tackle winter weather.

He said tandems will be moved over and will limit the amount of work that can be done.

Peters said work continues on Beech Road.

“They had the wedging and leveling done from 2B – basically from the railroad tracks to 3B on the eastbound lane,” explained Peters. “They talked like they should be able to finish the wedging and leveling by Wednesday and they would start putting the surface on, weather permitting.”

Beech Road was awarded Community Crossing grant funds for 2018. Peters and the commissioners wanted that project done in 2017 and it appears E&B Paving will be completing the project by the time the snow starts to fly.
