The Marshall County Council discussed a change in the probation item in the 2017 salary ordinance.
Auditor Julie Fox explained that the chief probation officer retired thus adjusting the rate of pay.
“We have a new chief probation officer so that adjustment needed to be made in accordance with that,” said Fox. “I would like it retroactive to Sept. 25, 2017. The rate of pay would be $18.19 per hour.”
The ordinance amendment is mandated by the state so the council needed to approve the amendment which they did by a unanimous vote.
