The Culver Town Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing and the first reading for their proposed 2018 budget. Council members will also receive an update on the Stellar Communities Designation Program plan when they meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. EDT in Culver Town Hall.
Council members will address an ordinance that will amend and restate a past ordinance which establishes fees or costs for the Town of Culver Park and Recreation Department.
An ordinance rezoning certain property within the jurisdiction of the Town of Culver and its 2 mile boundary is up for its second and third reading. With this ordinance, a property at 117 West Madison Street will be rezoned from a Resdential-1 to a Residential-2 district to allow for duplexes. The parcel already has a duplex on it and the Culver Plan Commission submitted a request to switch the zoning district so there is no longer a violation.
The council will also discuss a matter which was already approved by the recently formed Culver Economic Development Commission. On Monday night, the Culver Economic Development Commission approved a resolution establishing 540 W Jefferson Street, commonly known as Sand Hill Farms, as an economic revitalization target area. The Culver Town Council’s decision on the resolution will finalize the ability for developer Kevin Berger to apply for a residential tax abatement.
