The Marshall County Council will entertain a plea by Commissioner Kurt Garner this morning concerning the Cumulative Capital Development Fund.
Garner stated last week that he would be before the council at this meeting to ask for a resolution in support of the reestablishment of the Cumulative Capital Development Fund. Taxes generated by this fund will help gather money to support county departments in purchasing needed equipment.
If ultimately approved, a tax increase not to exceed $.0333 per $100 of assessed valuation of property would create approximately $400,000 that can be used on capital investments in the county.
The commissioners last week unanimously approved a motion to hear public opinion on the matter on Monday, April 3 at 9 a.m. ET in the meeting room in the Marshall County Building.
The council will also receive an update on the Marshall County Museum activities from Museum Assistant Director Linda Rippy and a Community Corrections Case Manager position wage will be discussed.
