Funding for the assistant director position at the Marshall County Museum was discussed by the county council this week.
The council approved the position at their meeting last month. Director Linda Rippy requested a transfer of $5,000 from the historical society fund to supplement the pay for that position this year. Starting pay for the assistant director position is $18.67 an hour. The council questioned how $14,600 in benefits will be funded. Rippy said the museum can pick up those costs this year. She will review the issue when the council reviews next year’s budget this fall.
The council approved the transfer of funds and also gave Rippy permission to hire a candidate into that position.
