The Marshall County Commissioners are taking input from the public this morning on the establishment of an Ordinance Violations Bureau. The commissioners are considering an ordinance creating the bureau and specifying which ordinances it would enforce.

During this morning’s meeting, the commissioners are also expected to decide on various agreements with the City of Plymouth. These include an amended contract for emergency dispatch services. Last week, the Plymouth Common Council voted to join Marshall County’s centralized emergency dispatch service, but requested some restrictions on the year-to-year increase in the city’s share of the cost.

The county commissioners are also expected to decide whether to continue sharing Plan Director Ralph Booker with Plymouth. City officials say the arrangement works well, but the county commissioners nearly rejected last year’s contract renewal, due to concerns about Booker’s workload.

A memorandum of understanding regarding the placement of Plymouth’s gateway signage will also be considered. This morning’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting starts at 9:30 in the Marshall County Building.
