Efforts to move the Marshall County Health Department to the Community Resource Center continue to move ahead. During Monday’s County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Kurt Garner reported the project’s general construction cost currently sits at just over $163,000.
The commissioners approved a change order that brought that price down slightly, but there are some other costs the county has to take into account. They also approved paying K3, LLC just under $3,800 for the installation of internal cabling. It will also cost about $6,800 to connect the facility to the Metronet. Marshall County hopes to split that with St. Joseph Health System.
At this point, that leaves the project more than $6,000 under the $180,000 appropriated by the County Council for the work. However, some additional equipment and contract costs are still anticipated with the installation of a VOIP phone system (find here).
The Health Department’s move to the Community Resource Center is expected to free up space at the Marshall County Building for the expansion of the County Prosecutor’s Office.
