The Plymouth Common Council will start the process of raising sewer rates tonight. A sewer rate ordinance will be presented for first reading. Accounting firm Umbaugh and Associates has recommended a 17-percent increase to fund upgrades to the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, while continuing to cover day-to-day operations and existing debt payments. Centennial Park is one step closer to getting new tennis courts, after the Plymouth Common Council voted Wednesday to contribute an additional $329,000 in city funding for the project. That money, appropriated out of the city’s Cumulative Capital Development and Cumulative Capital Improvement funds, is in addition to the $750,000 the city has already pledged. Continue reading
Construction is set to start this spring on the new tennis courts at Centennial Park in Plymouth. On Tuesday, the Plymouth School Board approved the funding arrangements for the school corporation’s share in the cost of the project. Continue reading
The Centennial Park Tennis Court project took a big step forward this week. No comments were offered during a Monday night public hearing on the establishment of a dedicated fund for the project. The city has pledged $750,000 toward the construction of new tennis courts. Half of the money will come from the capital improvement fund and the other half from cumulative capital development.
