Marshall County Bicentennial Celebration Honors Past, Embraces the Future
The torch relay navigated its way through Marshall County on Tuesday to celebrate Indiana’s Bicentennial.
Downtown Plymouth was among the stops for the torch – which was lined with residents hoping to catch a glimpse of the torchbearers carrying the state symbol during its stay in Marshall County. The torch made stops in Bremen, LaPaz, Plymouth, and Culver on Tuesday.
Tenant Announced for Commerce Building
The Marshall County Shell Building will soon have an occupant. Bluffton-based Pretzels Inc. plans to invest $15 million to purchase and equip the 45,000 square foot facility at 2910 Commerce Street in Plymouth. Continue reading

INDOT Breaks Ground on Plymouth Substation
Marshall County will soon be home to a new, state-of-the-art INDOT maintenance facility. State and local officials broke ground yesterday on the $7.2 million project on Pioneer Drive north of U.S. 30. It will serve as a base of operations and salt building for the Plymouth Sub District. INDOT Statewide Director of Facilities Management Steve McAvoy says the existing facility dates to 1978 and is no longer capable of meeting the agency’s needs with regard to maintaining roads during the winter months. INDOT Announces Groundbreaking for New Plymouth Facility
The Indiana Department of Transportation will break ground next week on a new base of operations in Plymouth. The 40,000 square foot facility at the intersection of Commerce Street and Pioneer Drive will house a 22,000 foot, state of the art operations center and an 18,000 foot salt and Cargill brine making building. Plymouth Officials Cut Ribbon for Freedom Park
Plymouth residents of all ages and abilities now have a playground to enjoy. City officials cut the ribbon for Freedom Park at Packard Woods last evening. Mayor Mark Senter says it’s a great addition to the city.

Plymouth is among the safest cities in Indiana, according to a new report. It’s number 8 on the list of safest midsize cities and towns in the state as ranked by ValuePenguin. Plymouth Mayor Honors Longtime Park Board Member
Longtime Plymouth Park Board member Sally Greenlee now has a key to the city. Mayor Mark Senter presented it during Monday’s meeting and read a proclamation in her honor. Mrs. Greenlee was appointed to the park board in 1999 by her husband, then-mayor Jack Greenlee. She served for 15 years and was also a member of the Plymouth Plan Commission. Continue reading
Volunteers Needed for Mayor’s Youth Council Earth/Arbor Day Celebration
The Mayor’s Youth Council plans to show Mother Earth some love tomorrow. Volunteers ages 11 and older are needed for their third annual Earth Day celebration. It gets under way at 9 a.m. at River Park Square on Garro Street and continues until 1 p.m. Participants are asked to wear long pants and shoes with closed toes.
