Ordinance May Allow Retired Officer to Purchase Service Weapon
The Plymouth Board of Works and Common Council will consider a compromise tonight to allow a recently retired city police officer to keep his department-issued handgun. They were prepared to declare it surplus property and gift it to Ted Brown at their last meeting, until a member of the public questioned the legality of doing so. The City of Plymouth can proceed with bond financing and refinancing plans after action last night by the council. They approved the issuance of waterworks revenue bonds to cover the cost of improvements to municipal waterworks as well as the refinancing of the 2008 city sewage works revenue bonds. Marshall County Commissioners to Meet Today
The Marshall County Commissioners will meet for the last time this year today at 8:30 a.m. ET.
The commissioners will review the county’s contract with the Muskegon River Youth Center. The probation department had a previous contract with the juvenile detention facility in Muncie but operations have moved to a new location in Evart, Indiana. The 2014 contract expires today.
