Plymouth Officials Remind Residents of Yard Waste Restrictions
The City of Plymouth will pick up grass clippings and a branch or two from residential yards but will not haul off waste from professional contractors. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt says doing so costs the city too much money. He adds it’s still a perennial fight with some property owners. Marquardt told the board of works this week a resident asked him why the city cut down a chipped a tree two blocks from her house but couldn’t do hers. Plymouth BOW, Common Council to Discuss Conflict of Interest Disclosure
The Plymouth Board of Works and Common Council will discuss a conflict of interest disclosure for a government officials during their respective meetings this evening. Counclman Mike Delp owns Plymouth-based Michiana Contracting, Inc., which was awarded the bid for the storage building at the Ledyard Water Treatment Plant. State law requires a conflict of interest disclosure be filed within 15 days. Plymouth Council Approves Bonds, Bids Taken Under Advisement
The City of Plymouth can proceed with bond financing and refinancing plans after action last night by the council. They approved the issuance of waterworks revenue bonds to cover the cost of improvements to municipal waterworks as well as the refinancing of the 2008 city sewage works revenue bonds.
