Plymouth Board of Works Approves Fire Department Hire, Authorizes Police Vehicle Quotes

Plymouth Fire Chief Rodney Miller has the blessing of the board of public works to hire a firefighter/paramedic to fill a position that’s been open since November. They unanimously approved his request to extend a conditional offer of employment to Kimberly Ursa of Culver.

The board also approved Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon’s request to solicit bids for two patrol vehicles. His budget request was for a sedan and a SUV, but Bacon asked that it be adjusted to allow him to purchase two SUV’s instead. He assured the board he has adequate money for the vehicles based on last year’s prices and the trade-in allowances for two squad cars and the van previously used by the drug task force.
