Wednesday is the Last Day to Donate to the Warm Up Marshall County Coat Drive!

There’s still time to bring in some donations for the Warm Up Marshall County coat drive! The last day to bring coats into Oliver Lincoln Ford in Plymouth and other local drop-off locations is Wednesday, November 14th.

For the last two decades, Oliver Lincoln Ford has held this drive to help bring winter apparel to Marshall County residents who can’t afford it on their own. All the collected coats will be distributed to individuals and families in need this weekend. Continue reading

Marshall County Election Board Approves Vote Center Change

The Marshall County Election Board reviewed a proposal to house two Vote Centers at the Knights of Columbus building.

The board previously learned that the National Guard Armory building is undergoing renovations and those improvements will not be complete in time for the May 8 Primary Election. The members thought moving that Vote Center into the Knights of Columbus building would work. That location is already a Plymouth East Vote Center so the board opted to merge the two Vote Centers into that building.

Marshall County Election Board Seeks Alternate Vote Center Site

The National Guard Armory in Plymouth is undergoing renovations and cannot be used as a Vote Center for the May Primary Election.

With the unavailability of the 12th vote center site, the Marshall County Election Board members Tuesday morning discussed simply moving forward with 11 vote centers or finding an alternate site. Clerk Deb Vandemark suggested checking on availability at the Knights of Columbus building in Plymouth to host more machines. Parking may be an issue, but the building would offer enough space and it would meet Vote Center requirements.

Warm Up Marshall County Coat Drive Collection

As temperatures continue to drop, individuals will begin breaking out warmer clothing when they prepare to leave their homes. Unfortunately, not everybody has that option. The national organization Warm Up reports that every winter, 14 million children across the country go without adequate winter wear.

Several area businesses are doing their part to cut those numbers down locally by hosting drop-off locations for the Warm-Up Marshall County Coat Drive. Continue reading
