The Marshall County Commissioners reviewed grant paperwork that will be submitted to the Office of Community and Rural Affairs on Friday. The Marshall County 4-H Fair Association is seeking a $500,000 grant to build a multi-purpose building on the 4-H Fairgrounds in Argos.
Marshall County Council Approves Pledge Toward Multi-Purpose Building Grant
The Marshall County Council approved action on Monday morning to pledge funds toward the Marshall County 4-H Fair Board Association’s OCRA grant proposal for a multi-purpose building at the fairgrounds in Argos.
Angel Balsley explained that the project was not awarded the OCRA grant request in the fall for the $500,000 grant request but the application will be submitted again in an additional grant round in February. She approached the council members Monday morning with a funding request to help the fair board obtain the grant.
Commissioners Review Multi-Purpose Building Plans
The Marshall County Commissioners received an update on the progress on plans for a multi-purpose building to be built on the 4-H Fairgrounds in Argos.
Shannon McLeod with Priority Project Resources went over the paperwork and process for the proposed building that will act as a building to host many public events in the Marshall County area. The project has been scaled down to an 8,000 square foot building with a steel frame building. The interior will feature drywall and concrete flooring. It will accommodate a seating capacity up to 400 people.
