Marshall County Council Meets Today

Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel is expected to discuss a part-time security officer and will submit a request to apply for a marine patrol assistance grant when County Council members meet today.

County Council members are also anticipated to receive a presentation over a supportive housing project from Garden Court, Inc representatives Brent Martin and Jim Causey. A job description and wage for a code enforcement officer will be discussed by Plan Director Ty Adley and Health Administrator Christine Stinson will submit two grant application requests. Marshall County Commissioners to Meet Today

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today where they will discuss the LED lighting project for the lighting upgrade in the county building, courthouse, annex, and highway department building. The third reading of the speed limit ordinance that lowers the speed limit on 18B Road is also anticipated.

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today.

Highway Supervisor Jason Peters will provide an update on the summer work schedule and other items from the department. Boys and Girls Club President Art Jacobs will present information about the Plymouth/Bremen organization this morning while Sheriff Matt Hassel will discuss the jail.

Reminder: Real Estate Taxes Are Due Thursday, May 10th

Taxpayers should be working to finalize their real-estate taxes since the deadline to submit them is coming up on Thursday, May 10th. People also hop over to this site if they need the best property related advice.

According to Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier, tax drop off locations include any of the county’s Teachers Credit Union branches, the First Merchants Bank in Bourbon and the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in Bremen, as well as the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office.

There is a drop box at the south end of the Marshall County Building if a payment needs to be submitted after regular business hours. Continue reading
