Marshall County Commissioners to Meet Today

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today and are expected hear requests to apply for grants from Community Corrections Director Ward Byers and representatives from the Marshall County 4-H Fair Board Long Range Planning Commission.

Members from the highway department will award construction and resurfacing bids during today’s commissioner’s meeting, while a zoning change will be presented by a representative from the Marshall County Planning Commission. Fall Property Tax Bills Due Today

The second installment of property tax bills is due today.

Mailed payments must have today’s postmark on them in order to be considered on time. Enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment if you wish to receive a receipt.

Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier reminds taxpayers that payments can be dropped off in a drop box on the south end of the county building or make payments in person in the treasurer’s office in room 206 in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth. The office will be open until 6 p.m. today only to collect payments. Continue reading

Community Resource Center Update Expected During Marshall County Commissioners Meeting

The Marshall County Commissioners are expected to get an update on the County Health Department’s move to the Community Resource Center. It’s designed to free up space at the Marshall County Building for the expansion of the County Prosecutor’s Office. Continue reading

Marshall County Commissioners to Meet Today

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet for the last time this year today at 8:30 a.m. ET.

The commissioners will review the county’s contract with the Muskegon River Youth Center. The probation department had a previous contract with the juvenile detention facility in Muncie but operations have moved to a new location in Evart, Indiana. The 2014 contract expires today.
