Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced during this week’s State of the State address that Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded a $250 million grant to help bolster quality of place efforts throughout the state. The grant to the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), which is the single largest award given in Lilly Endowment’s 86-year history, will be administered in conjunction with the nationally-recognized Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI).

Bremen High School Senior Named Recipient of MCCF 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

Bremen High School Senior Emma Hundt has been named the Marshall County Community Foundation 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.

As the recipient of the 2018 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship, she will receive a four-year, full tuition scholarship to the Indiana college of her choice, as well as a $900 annual stipend for required equipment and books. After graduation, Hundt plans to pursue a major in Engineering at Purdue University.  Continue reading

John Glenn School Corporation Receives Lilly Grant

The John Glenn School Corporation was recently awarded a $188,500 Lilly Endowment grant.

Superintendent Richard Reese explained to the school board Tuesday night that the grant will help with counseling services.

“This basically has to with us hiring another counselor, particularly K-8, to assist in career to work stuff,” said Reese. “This will give kids more of a feeling for what’s necessary to be successful in the workplace.”

Marshall County Museum Sports Exhibit Receives $30,000 Grant

Efforts to recognize the history of high school sports in Marshall County are getting a big boost. The Marshall County Museum has gotten a $30,000 grant to upgrade its Sports Room. The museum is one of 25 organizations included in the first group of recipients of the Indiana Historical Society’s Heritage Support Grant.  Continue reading

Marshall County Community Foundation Announces Matching Grant Opportunity

A partnership between Lilly Endowment and the Marshall County Community Foundation could bring up to $500,000 into the county. The goal of the Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow, or GIFT, initiative is to encourage and strengthen community foundations. Lilly Endowment’s GIFT VI fund will match up to $250,000 of contributions to the Community Fund. Continue reading
